Are you planning a visit with your little one?
A short-term ascent to altitudes above 2,500 metres using cable cars or on mountain roads is generally acceptable for healthy children of all ages, i.e. children of all ages, including infants, in view of the reduced oxygen partial pressure of the air they breathe at high altitudes.  For very young infants, however, spending several hours at altitude should be carefully considered (less efficient temperature regulation, rapid dehydration, effects of high altitude radiation/sun).

Travelling with your dog?

We also welcome four-legged visitors to the Dachstein Glacier! Your dog does not need a fixed seat booking for the ascent with the gondola

However, please be aware that we can only transport your dog in the gondola with a valid ticket, lead and muzzle! Tip: You can buy a muzzle at the ticket office for € 9.50.

ENJOY YOUR TRIP AND SAVE TIME!

Arrive and enjoy: That's the motto for your start to a successful Dachstein day!

For this reason, we recommend that you buy your ticket and your fixed gondola seat in advance in our online shop to avoid possible queues at our ticket offices.

Due to the high demand, the gondola ride can only be guaranteed with a fixed seat booking.

Do you already have the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard or another valid ticket? We recommend that you book a fixed seat in any case.

Visit the Dachstein with reduced mobility

INFORMATION FOR VISITORS WITH WHEELCHAIRS, WALKING AIDS, ROLLATORS AND PUSHCHAIRS

People with mobility impairments, including those using wheelchairs, walking aids, or walkers, as well as families with strollers, are warmly welcomed at the Dachstein Glacier!

Our visitor parking lot is located right at the valley station of the Dachstein Glacier cable car, featuring 5 designated parking spaces for people with disabilities. However, we kindly point out that these spaces can fill up quickly on busy days.

From the parking lot, you can reach the valley station building directly via a walkway. Access to the Dachstein Panorama Gondola at both the valley and mountain stations is provided via a staff-operated elevator. Please feel free to contact our ticket and/or cable car team – they will assist you within our facilities.

Upon arrival at the mountain station, you can easily visit the Dachstein Glacier Restaurant, its terraces, the Skywalk and Energy Crystal attraction and the Dachstein Shop. Both the valley and mountain station have accessible restroom facilities.

Access to the Ice Palace, as well as the Dachstein Suspension Bridge and Stairway to Nothingness, is not possible with wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers due to the alpine terrain and lack of paved paths.
