AFD – Alpine Medical Research Station Dachstein
The AFD was founded in 2003 by the INTERDISCIPLINARY ARGE ALPINE MEDICINE (WORKING GROUP FOR ALPINE MEDICINE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GRAZ) supported by Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH.
Research on the effects of medium altitudes on healthy and ill individuals forms the central research focus of AFD and ARGE Alpine Medicine. To this end alpine medical symposia are held every year.
